feeling blue...

For years I had an unconditional love for spray paint. That is... until chalk paint came along. Out went the cans and in came every color and brand of chalk paint I could get my hands on.

Latest obsession is this combo- Americana Decor chalk paint (comes in many colors and goes on oh-so-smooooothly) and Nuvo embellishment mousse (creamy and so very easy to work with).

I had a pair of plastic urns that needed to go but I just couldn't toss them out into the donation pile. Yet.

ONE coat of the prettiest blue chalk paint- yep, just one coat did the trick. Once it was completely dry I gave it a single coat of clear wax before using a tinted glaze over the top of the whole thing.

Final step was to lightly embellish the raised edges with a gorgeous platinum mousse from Nuvo... this time I just used my finger to apply but you can also use a brush if you want to. No need to give another coat of wax because once the mousse dries it's completely permanent and will not rub or wipe off. LOVE.

And... the plastic urn lives to see another day outside of the donation pile!
