I've made a lot of slippers for different holidays but this Valentine slipper was really sweet. Over the last 2 weeks of classes we made almost 3 dozen!
This is how they begin... I create an actual slipper structure from chipboard and paper (for this one it was book print and red cardstock). When I first saw this beautiful lace applique, I KNEW I had to use it somewhere- turns out it was just perfect for the shape of the slipper.
The next step was filling it with all things pink, pretty and sweet.
The students slippers all looked so great when they were done. Everybody has a slightly different take on the arrangement of what goes in, but every single one was lovely when they were done.
The perfect finishing touch was a rhinestone-circled pink pearl cabachon. I kinda wish these shoes were real...
