Every summer I have the pleasure of being a director for one session of camp. It takes a lot of work throughout the year (and the week leading up to it is C-R-A-Z-Y) but the actual week of camp is an absolute blast. unless you count the snakes. always lots of rattlesnakes. and yellow jackets. and ticks. hmmmm-
Really though, I get to reconnect with old friends and make new ones. I've watched some of the campers go from being little girls to teenagers, and now they're young adults. It's an experience I have really enjoyed and hope to continue doing for many, many years to come.
I wouldn't trade it for anything. although by Friday I'd trade it for a soft pillow and a long, long nap. So long to you for the next week... say a little prayer that I don't meet up with any angry snakes, OK?

thank you for being a grown up scout, people like you make my children's summer so special!
Good luck with the rattlesnakes, have a great time.
Terri...I will be praying a lot for you to not see any Rattle snakes! Have a wonderful time at camp and I'll see you next week.
Hope you have a good trip! I love Girl Scouts, and OF COURSE the cookies. :)
I was only a Brownie when I was a kid, and really just because I wanted the Brownie handbook. Now I'm sorry I didn't keep at it. It sounds wonderful!
