favorite brownies...

Here's an easy, quick recipe for some great brownies. I make these a few times a month because either The Daughter or The Husband asks me to (and sometimes I just want them for myself!). Depending on what you've got on hand, they can be basic or decadent- it's up to you!

My Favorite Brownies
1 cup butter, melted
1 cup unsweetened cocoa
2 cups sugar
4 eggs, beaten
4 teaspoons vanilla
1 cup flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
optional: about 2 cups of chocolate chips, chopped up Reese's peanut butter cups or chopped nuts

In a medium bowl, combine melted butter and cocoa until dissolved. Add sugar and mix well. Add eggs, one at a time, and stir until well-combined. Stir in vanilla, flour and salt just until flour is absorbed (don't overmix). Fold in 2 cups of optional ingredients, if desired. Pour batter into a greased 13x9-inch pan and bake at 350 degrees for approx. 32 minutes. Do not overbake! Cool completely before cutting into squares.

Yum. And don't blame me if you find yourself making these over and over again.

Hi Amy! I cannot figure out how to contact you (didn't know if I should do it through one of your blogs in the comment section) so I hope you find this here... Of course you can use this post or recipe or whatever you want. The only thing I want to say about these brownies is- DON'T EAT ONE!!! I can't be responsible for you and that scale next week!
